Author’s Note: Before you dive into this episode, there’s something important I want to share. Sometimes in life, we find ourselves in situations we never wanted, facing endless sorrow that feels as if all the sadness in the world has concentrated upon us. In those moments, it might seem impossible to forget or change our circumstances.

In Rudra’s story, I wanted to break away from that cycle. I wanted Rudra to find happiness, to forget all his struggles. If happiness wasn’t possible in the life he had, then I chose to change his life altogether. I hope you feel the warmth and hope that Rudra finds in this chapter, as he embraces a new reality filled with love and joy.

Rudra and His New Tale: Rediscovering Himself

In the black void, Rudra tried to understand what was happening. The more he thought, the more confusing it became. Eventually, he stopped trying to make sense of it all and resigned to the strange place. Suddenly, he felt like someone was trying to erase him.

“Will I go easily? No, I will fight back,” he thought. But after some time, the attack stopped. He felt a growing sense of forgetfulness. “What am I forgetting?” he wondered.

As Rudra grappled with these thoughts, Anjali decided to erase all of his memories to ensure he wouldn’t interfere with her story. “Wait, wait, wait… first, where am I? And who am I?” Rudra thought, as he lost even the last fragments of his memories.

Anjali sat there with a pen in her hand, striking off Rudra’s character and his thoughts. Realizing she couldn’t remove the character entirely, she chose to erase his memories instead. She faced a problem: she couldn’t leave this character alone.

Every time she tried to write something, this character would come in between, causing havoc, repeatedly questioning, “Who am I? Where am I?” The novel Anjali was writing rejected sad and complex characters.

Rudra, who had forgotten everything but retained his sad and resilient nature, was causing a disturbance. Anjali wanted to make Rudra happy and fit him into her novel. Flipping her pen in her hand with a coffee beside her book, she thought hard about how to make Rudra happy according to the novel’s setting.

Suddenly, she got an idea. She gave him loving, caring, and rich parents who cherished him deeply. She made it so he had an accident, forgot all his memories, and his overprotective parents didn’t want him to leave the house, worrying about him every minute. Feeling satisfied with this setup, she closed the book, thinking, “Now he is happy. He has money, rich parents, and they are so caring. He will reside there.” Feeling tired, she fell onto her bed and drifted off to sleep.

Rudra, who was feeling confused in the black space, felt his vision slowly clearing. He woke up in a bed, surrounded by heart rate monitors. The place looked more like a palace than a hospital, but it was filled with expensive hospital equipment.

Feeling disoriented, he tried hard to remember what was happening. Slowly, the door opened, and a woman in a maid’s uniform entered the room. She looked at Rudra, dropped what she was carrying, and ran out screaming, “Madam, madam, madam!” This left Rudra even more confused.

Later, a couple who looked about 35 years old came running into the room, surrounded by maids and servants, crying, “Oh, my dear son, wake up!” The confusing part was that they were calling him their son, even though he looked about 20 years old.

The woman hurriedly threw the man behind and hugged Rudra tightly. The warmth from her body flowed into him, making his eyes moist. Rudra tried very hard to stop the tears that were welling up, but as his mom hugged him tightly, the tears began to fall uncontrollably. It felt like the warmth he had always wanted, a warmth that seemed to span across past lives.

Seeing this, the woman cried even more, murmuring, “Oh my, how much you have suffered. Do you think your mom will leave you alone? I’ll fight with anyone to bring you back into my lap.”

Rudra, unable to contain his emotions, hugged her tightly and cried, “Mom, mom, mom, I don’t want to leave you.” The man, who had been standing behind, coughed, “Ahem… Ahem… I’m also here.”

Realizing there was a middle-aged man coughing, Rudra released his mother, his face turning red with embarrassment. To his bewilderment, the man slowly hugged him, crying, “Oh, my dear son, who hit you? Tell me, I’ll find him and make sure he never sees the light of day again.”

This left Rudra speechless, while the woman, who called herself his mom, stood there pouting with an angry look on her face. Slowly, an older man who looked about 60 years old entered the room, saying, “Ram and Sita, what are you doing to your son who just woke up?”

Looking more carefully, Rudra realized that while they looked young, their age didn’t match their appearance. Ram, Rudra’s father, asked, “Rudra, what happened to you? We didn’t see anyone around. The roads were empty, and only your car was there, which looked like someone hit you and ran away.”

Rudra tried to remember what had happened but couldn’t recall anything. The more he tried, the more his head ached. Clutching his head, he shouted, “Aaaaarghhhhhhhh!”

Seeing him in pain, Sita, Rudra’s mother, kicked Ram’s leg as punishment and took Rudra into her arms, shouting at her husband, “What are you doing? He just woke up! Go, go, go away.”

Ram, unable to say anything, looked concerned and told Rudra to rest. “We’ll talk about this later,” he said as he left the room. He instructed the maids and servants to move Rudra to his room, make sure he was comfortable, and call the doctor to visit him.

As people started leaving, the room became quiet again. Rudra remembered his mom being dragged away by his grandpa, making him laugh unintentionally. Slowly, he got out of bed and looked in the mirror, feeling unrecognizable.

Rudra new to himself

The person in the mirror was so young and handsome that he could be called the dream of many women. The more he looked into the mirror, the more he felt that this wasn’t him, but he couldn’t say what was not his and what was not him.

The warmth from his mother and father left him feeling very happy, like a two-year-old who had found his lost toy after searching and crying for it. As he slowly moved out of the room, he felt shocked looking at the palace turned into a house.

In the hall, he saw his mom scolding the doctor as if she were trying to eat him up, while his father tried to calm her down and still angrily pulled the doctor towards Rudra’s room. Looking at the scene left Rudra speechless.

He felt like maybe he had received the love of many lifetimes. Suddenly, a thought ran through his mind that what he had forgotten was not as important as the loving parents and the happiness he had around him. With that realization, he felt a deep sense of peace and acceptance, ready to embrace this new reality.
