“What happened to your friend? Did she wake up?” Prerna asked, her voice filled with concern.

Aarushi nodded, her eyes clouded with a mix of emotions. “She woke up early in the morning, around 2 a.m. But what she told me shattered me even more—she said it was the love of her life who did that to her. As soon as she opened her eyes, she hugged me, crying, and confessed it was him.”

Prerna’s face twisted in anger. “What kind of person does that to someone they love? Is he some kind of sadist? No, he’s worse than that! A complete monster!” she fumed, her voice shaking with fury.

Aarushi sighed deeply, recalling the confusion that had filled her mind when her friend revealed the truth. “She had been secretly in love with him, never letting him know how she felt. He was a good person too, or at least that’s what we all thought. But that night… that night changed everything for both of them. It was a nightmare.”

“What did your friend say after she told you it was him?” Prerna asked, her concern deepening.

Aarushi looked away, her voice dropping. “She cried, leaning on my shoulder, clutching my hands. ‘I never thought he would do something like this,’ she told me. ‘Yesterday morning, he proposed to me, and I was about to accept. But then I thought about talking to my parents first, so I told him no. I didn’t mean forever, just until I could figure things out. But he took it the wrong way.’”

Prerna’s eyes widened in disbelief. Aarushi continued, her voice cracking slightly. “‘How can I tell my parents? How can I live with this?’ she sobbed, tears soaking the front of her apron. ‘It would’ve been better if I’d just died right there. Why did you save me, Aarushi?’”

Aarushi paused, her face reflecting the weight of her friend’s words. “I didn’t say a word, I couldn’t. I was too afraid that if I opened my mouth, I’d start crying with her.”

Her friend fell back asleep not long after.

“As soon as she drifted off, I reached out to TMD and told him everything. At first, he said, ‘She could’ve asked for time instead of rejecting him outright, but that’s in the past now. There’s no point dwelling on it. What matters is getting her back on her feet.’”

Aarushi’s voice softened as she recounted his words. “That’s when I realized TMD wasn’t just a vigilante; he was someone who really cared about helping people find their way back from the darkest moments.”

“So what did he do next? Did he talk to her?” Prerna asked eagerly, her curiosity getting the best of her.

Aarushi smiled slightly, thinking about the surprising turn of events. “You know, every time I encounter TMD, I’m more impressed by his approach. I expected him to speak to my friend, to motivate her to move past the trauma and rebuild her life. But he didn’t.”

Prerna raised an eyebrow. “Then what did he do?”

Aarushi leaned forward. “Instead of stepping in directly, he made me talk to her. He guided me through every possible question she might ask and how to respond in a way that would help her heal. He said, ‘I’m just a stranger to her. She might not take my words seriously, but you’re her friend. This is your moment to support her. You need to be strong, and I’ll help guide you through it.’”

Prerna’s eyes widened. “That’s… unexpected.”

Aarushi nodded. “Exactly. He wasn’t just about stepping in and fixing things himself. He knew that the best way to help her was through someone she trusted, someone close to her. TMD gave me the strength and the words to help her find her way out of that dark place.”

“So how did he help her through you?” Prerna asked, her excitement bubbling over at the unique approach TMD had taken.

Aarushi smiled, recalling the guidance she received. “He walked me through everything, step by step. He didn’t miss a single detail, no possible question or emotional response she might have. For each question my friend might ask, he would ask me how I’d respond, and then he’d correct me where I went wrong. But he didn’t just tell me what to say—he explained why I should approach it a certain way. He was so clear on the direction we were taking her through the process.”

Prerna leaned in closer, fascinated. “So, what was his approach exactly?”

Aarushi continued, “It was all about choices. He wanted me to ask her questions that would make her reflect on her situation. After each question, I had to lay out the options she had in front of her. Then, we’d discuss the possible outcomes of each choice—what her future could look like depending on which path she chose. But the most important part? He emphasized that the final decision had to be hers. He made sure she felt empowered to choose her own way forward.”

Prerna sat back, clearly impressed. “That’s incredible. He wasn’t just trying to fix things for her—he was helping her take control of her own life.”

“Exactly,” Aarushi continued, her eyes lighting up. “The way he guided me through the process, it wasn’t just about giving answers—it was about showing a clear picture of what each choice could mean for my friend’s life. Being that bridge between him and her made me stronger. It was empowering to realize that I could help others not only by raising awareness through my writing, but also by being there for them, both physically and emotionally.”

She paused, reflecting on how much the experience had changed her. “TMD didn’t just help my friend; he brought out a side of me I hadn’t even realized was there. A part of me that could make a difference in ways I hadn’t imagined before. And I think that’s why he’s called ‘The Man in Dark.’ For so long, I thought it was because his identity was hidden. But that day, I realized it’s because he brings out the good in people from the darkest depths of their souls.”

Prerna smiled, clearly moved by Aarushi’s words. “That’s powerful, Aarushi. He didn’t just change your friend’s life—he changed yours too.”
