As the old man listened to the voice on the other end of the call, his heart fluttered with a mix of emotions—overwhelmed, excited, and a glimmer of hope. With full anxiety in his voice he addressed,“ my dear child i have heard so much about you and your warm heart. I am truly happy to be talking to you.”

The caller on the other side referred to as TMD responded affectionately “So am I grandpa!. I would love to have a lovely conversation with you. But first you need to freshen up.”, There was a gentle directive in TMD’s voice, guiding the old man towards a moment of self-care.

Following TMD’s instructions, the old man glanced to his left, where his eyes landed on a beautiful apartment named Krishna Vilas.

TMD continued, providing detailed instructions, “You can come to flat no. 143 where you can take a bath and eat some bread to regain energy.” With a pause, TMD allowed space for the old man to respond.

“Oh my son! Such a soothing voice you have. How can I reject anything from you! I will make my way there. Thank you so much.” The old man expressed.

With reassurance in his voice TMD concluded, “Okay grandpa, we will continue our conversation as soon as you are comfortable.”

The old man reached the flat and gently knocked on the door, nervously awaiting his meeting with TMD. To his surprise, a young boy in a wheelchair opened the door, greeting him with a warm smile.

The old man, dripping wet from the rain, stood outside. The cute boy in the wheelchair greeted him with concern, saying, “You’re insane to get drenched like that. Come inside.” He handed the old man a towel to dry off.

While the old man dried himself off, a delivery boy showed up at the door. He handed a pair of clothes to the young boy saying, “The order is from…” Before he could finish, the boy interrupted with a smile, saying, “Thank you. You’re right on time.”

Seeing the boy’s commanding presence, the old man couldn’t resist asking, “what’s your name kid?” followed by an answer “Arjun”, firmly from the boy. “Whom do you live with here? I came to meet TMD here.”, the old man inquired, curious about the boy’s living situation as he found no one but him in that flat.

With a perplexed expression, Arjun confronted the old man, “You haven’t even shared your name with me, but you’re already investigating me. First, take these clothes and freshen up, or you’ll catch a cold, which I hate so much.”

Bending slightly towards Arjun, the old man complimented him, “You’re looking adorable, my boy. Thank you for the clothes. Could you please tell me where the bathroom is exactly?”

Arjun, with a puzzled expression upon seeing the old man’s wet face, politely requested, “Mr. Old man, Could you please step back a bit? The bathroom is right behind you.” The old man with a smile stepped back and went to the bathroom saying “ by the way I am Manikyam.” and shut the door.

As Manikyam stepped out of the bathroom, he spotted Arjun sitting at the dining table, eagerly waiting for him. On the table were a few slices of toasted bread and a couple of sandwiched bread with jam in between them.

“I’m starving, and I wouldn’t mind some company if you’re up for it,” Arjun said with a smile. He continued, “The toast is for you. If you prefer fruits over bread, there are some over there.”

Manikyam walked over to the table, picked up an apple, and inquired, “When do I get to meet TMD?” Arjun replied, “You look really tired, and I can see it in your eyes. Just have some food and take rest. You can meet him as soon as you feel better.”

After finishing their supper, Manikyam and Arjun continued talking to each other. When Manikyam brought up the question of Arjun living alone, Arjun replied, revealing that he had lost his parents and hadn’t even had the chance to see them.

“I am so sorry!” Manikyam expressed his sympathy.

“It’s okay,” Arjun replied with a smile.

“Then who is taking care of you?” Manikyam asked, realizing that someone must be looking after Arjun as he couldn’t survive on his own.

“I have a brother and his name is TMD”, Arjun replied proudly and firmly.

థ మెన్ ఇన్ డార్క్ | ఎపిసోడ్ – 02

గత ఎపిసోడ్ లో ఏమి జరిగింది? ఇక్కడ తాకి చదవండి.

ముసలి అతను ఫోన్లో  ఆ స్వరం వింటునంత సేపు  తెలియని అనుభూతి ఒకవైపు ఆశ మరో వైపు ఎదో తెలియని ఉత్సాహం. ఎంతో ఆప్యాయంగా “బాబు! నీ గురించి, నీ యొక్క మంచి మనసు గురించి నేను చాలా విన్నాను. నీతో ఇలా మాట్లాడటం నాకు ఎంతో సంతోషంగా వుంది.” అని అంటాడు.

“నాకు కూడా మీతో మాట్లాడటం చాలా సంతోషంగా వుంది తాతగారు. కానీ మీరు వాన లో తడిచి వున్నారు, వణుకుతున్నారు మీకు విశ్రాంతి అవసరం. కాబట్టి మీరు ముందుగా మీ యొక్క శారీరక సామర్ధ్యాన్ని కుదట పరుచుకోండి. ” అంటూ టీ.ఎం.డి ఆ ముసిలాయనను ఒక మార్గదర్శి లా  స్వీయ సంరక్షణ వైపు నడిపించటానికి ప్రయత్నిస్తూ కొన్ని సూచనలు ఇవ్వ సాగాడు. 

టి.ఎం.డి సూచనలను అనుసరించి, వృద్ధుడు తన ఎడమ వైపు చూశాడు, అక్కడ అతని కళ్ళకి  కృష్ణ విలాస్ అనే అందమైన అపార్ట్మెంట్పై కానపడ్డాయి.

“మీరు ఫ్లాట్ నంబర్ 143 కు వచ్చి స్నానం చేయవచ్చు మరియు శక్తిని తిరిగి పొందడానికి కొంత రొట్టె తినవచ్చు” అని వివరణాత్మక సూచనలను అందిస్తూ టి.ఎం.డి కొనసాగించారు. కొంత విరామంతో, టి.ఎం.డి వృద్ధుడికి ప్రతిస్పందించడానికి సమయాన్ని  కలిగించారు.

“బాబూ! ఎంత  ఓదార్పు స్వరం నీది. మీ నుండి దేనినైనా నేను ఎలా తిరస్కరించగలను! నేను అక్కడికి వెళతాను. థాంక్యూ సో మచ్” అని ఆ వృద్ధుడు ఆవేదన వ్యక్తం చేశాడు.

అతని గొంతులో భరోసాతో టి.ఎం.డి ముగించాడు “సరే తాతయ్యా, మీరు సౌకర్యవంతంగా ఉన్న వెంటనే మన  సంభాషణను కొనసాగిస్ధాము.”

వృద్ధుడు ఫ్లాట్‌కి చేరుకుని మెల్లగా తలుపు తట్టాడు, టి.ఎం.డి తో తన సమావేశం కోసం ఆశగా ఎదురుచూశాడు. అతనిని ఆశ్చర్యపరిచే విధంగా, వీల్ చైర్‌లో ఉన్న ఒక యువకుడు డోర్ తెరిచి, అతనిని వెచ్చని చిరునవ్వుతో పలకరించాడు.

ముసలివాడు, వర్షంలో తడిచి, బయట నిలబడ్డాడు. వీల్ చైర్ లో కూర్చున్న పిల్లవాడు , “నీకు పిచ్చి పట్టింది, అలా తడిసి ముద్దయ్యావ్  లోపలికి రా” అంటూ అరుస్తూ  పలకరించాడు.. అతను ఆ వృద్ధునికి తుడుచుకోవటానికి కండువా ఇచ్చాడు. .

వృద్ధుడు తన తల తుడుచుకుంటునప్పుడు , ఒక డెలివరీ అబ్బాయి తలుపు వద్ద కనిపించాడు. అతను యువకుడికి ఒక జత బట్టలు ఇచ్ఛి , ” ఈ ఆర్డర్ ..” అతను పూర్తి చేసేలోపు, బాలుడు చిరునవ్వుతో తన మాటలతో ఇలా అడ్డుపడ్డాడు, “ధన్యవాదాలు. మీరు సరైన సమయానికి వచ్చారు.”

బాలుడి కమాండింగ్ ఉనికిని చూసి, వృద్ధుడు “నీ పేరు ఏమిటి నాయనా ?” అని అడగకుండా ఉండలేకపోయాడు . బాలుడి నుండి గట్టిగా “అర్జున్” అనే సమాధానం వచ్చింది. “నీవు  ఇక్కడ ఎవరితో నివసిస్తున్నావు? నేను ఇక్కడ టిఎమ్‌డిని కలవడానికి వచ్చాను. ”, ఆ ఫ్లాట్‌లో అతను తప్ప మరెవరూ కనిపించకపోవడంతో వృద్ధుడు బాలుడి జీవన పరిస్థితి గురించి ఆసక్తిగా అడిగాడు.

అయోమయ భావంతో, అర్జున్ వృద్ధుడిని ఎదుర్కొన్నాడు, “మీరు  నాతో మీ పేరు కూడా పంచుకోలేదు, కానీ మీరు ఇప్పటికే నన్ను విచారిస్తున్నారు. ముందు, ఈ బట్టలు తీసుకొని స్నానం చేసి రండి, లేదా మీకు జలుబు వస్తుంది.నాకు అది అసలు నచ్చదు.”

అర్జున్ వైపు కొంచెం వంగి, ముసలివాడు అతనిని మెచ్చుకున్నాడు, “నువ్వు చాలా అందంగా కనిపిస్తున్నావు, అబ్బాయి. బట్టలకి ధన్యవాదాలు. బాత్రూమ్ ఎక్కడ ఉందో దయచేసి నాకు చెప్పగలవా ?”

అర్జునుడు వృద్ధుని తడి మొహం చూసి,  “మిస్టర్ ఓల్డ్ మాన్, దయచేసి కొంచెం వెనక్కి తిరగండి ? బాత్రూమ్ మీ వెనుకే ఉంది” అని మర్యాదపూర్వకంగా అభ్యర్థించాడు. ఆ పెద్దాయన చిరునవ్వుతో వెనక్కి తిరిగి, “నా పేరు మాణిక్యం” అంటూ బాత్‌రూమ్‌కి వెళ్లాడు. మరియు తలుపు మూసివేసాడు.

మాణిక్యం బాత్రూమ్ నుండి బయటికి రాగానే, డైనింగ్ టేబుల్ వద్ద అర్జున్ తన కోసం ఆత్రంగా ఎదురుచూస్తూ కూర్చొని ఉండటం అతను గమనించాడు. టేబుల్ మీద కాల్చిన బ్రెడ్ యొక్క కొన్ని ముక్కలు మరియు వాటి మధ్య జామ్‌తో కూడిన రెండు శాండ్‌విచ్ బ్రెడ్ ఉన్నాయి.

“నేను ఆకలితో ఉన్నాను, మీరు కూడా ఆకలితో ఉంటే మేతో కలిసి తినటానికి నేను సిద్ధం,” అర్జున్ నవ్వుతూ చెప్పాడు. అతను కొనసాగించాడు, “టోస్ట్ చేసినవి మీ కోసం. మీరు బ్రెడ్ కంటే పండ్లను ఇష్టపడితే, అక్కడ కొన్ని ఉన్నాయి.”

మాణిక్యం టేబుల్ దగ్గరకు వెళ్లి, ఒక ఆపిల్ తీసుకుని, “నేను టి.ఎం.డిని ఎప్పుడు కలవాలి?” అని అడిగాడు. “మీరు బాగా అలసిపోయినట్లు కనిపిస్తున్నారు, అది మీ కళ్లలో కనపడుతోంది. కొంచెం భోజనం చేసి విశ్రాంతి తీసుకొండి. మీకు మంచిగా అనిపించిన వెంటనే అతనిని కలవవచ్చు” అని అర్జున్ బదులిచ్చాడు.

భోజనం ముగించిన తర్వాత, మాణిక్యం మరియు అర్జున్ ఒకరితో ఒకరు మాట్లాడుకోవడం కొనసాగించారు. అర్జున్ ఒంటరిగా జీవిస్తున్నాడనే ప్రశ్నను మాణిక్యం లేవనెత్తినప్పుడు, అర్జున్ సమాధానమిచ్చాడు, అతను తన తల్లిదండ్రులను కోల్పోయాడని మరియు వారిని చూసే అవకాశం కూడా లేదని వెల్లడించాడు.

“నన్ను క్షమించు!” మాణిక్యం తన ప్రగాఢ సానుభూతిని తెలిపారు.

“ఫర్వాలేదు’’ అని నవ్వుతూ బదులిచ్చాడు అర్జున్.

“అప్పుడు నిన్ను ఎవరు చూసుకుంటున్నారు?” అర్జునుడు తనంతట తాను బతకలేక ఎవరో ఒకరు చూసుకుంటున్నారని గ్రహించి అడిగాడు మాణిక్యం.

“నాకు ఒక సోదరుడు ఉన్నాడు మరియు అతని పేరు టి.ఎం.డి”, అర్జున్ గర్వంగా మరియు గట్టిగా సమాధానం ఇచ్చాడు.
